As the plaque reveals, the building has had a number of uses, but the Cabins Park Committee decided to use it to portray a school, since it actually was used to house Kenai's first kindergarten.
This cabin displays the history of schools that have served the children of Kenai. The interior has a cloakroom and a main school room. Two murals by Rita Eddy "expand" the building into additional classrooms. The student desks are a variety of desk styles, and the teacher's desk was donated by the School District. The room also contains a desk and bench that were used in the Russian School in the late 1800s donated by the Russian Church Society.
The Dolchok/Juliussen cabin is a two-room cabin that houses miscellaneous collections of donated historic items.
The Miller Cabin was a residence with two rooms downstairs and an attic upstairs that served as sleeping quarters.
Assorted tools and equipment surround the outside of this cabin---waiting for the proper season to be used.
